Colin M. I really dig these acoustic versions. Some, like "Marisol" are almost new songs the atmosphere is so different (both great!). Favorite track: George Carillo (Acoustic).

I guess it's finally faded I guess it's starting to change But then it's awfully complicated To take it back and rearrange I should've never guessed it’s finished Just like the way it was before They made her take her medication Can't talk to Jesus anymore It's on the radio Subsonic waves It never lets me go To fade away Should I fight back or should I listen? Like every martyr, every saint? Like dirty dogs, we're only kissin' Like Mona Lisa's only paint You fall right back, and there you got me The mother dog who loves the bone If I could fall into your body Then would you rip into my soul? Well hold me closer I don't want to die alive You're on the floor with nothing left And anyway, I don't survive I was all dead and bent You were all right Summertime came and went To bring me to life Well hold me closer I don't want to die alive You're on the floor with nothing left And anyway, I don't survive

Soon this will all just be weird memories No place for your body, no body to squeeze I fall in love so I can be asleep and dreaming again I'm sure in every other life I lived, I'm already dead It's been a pleasure, the rainfall was sweeter, sweet waves on my tongue I've been untethered again from the ether, it's been long enough It's been a pleasure, the rainfall was sweeter, sweet waves on my tongue I've been untethered again from the ether I've been untethered again from your love I better start sticking with you cause I've been slipping away I've never needed too much, just water and nothing to change I sent you signals, transmissions, tore way out of range Now all these times are different, times are strange Every time I think I've gone insane I remind myself I'm just a brain And all my insides float away It's been a pleasure, the rainfall was sweeter, sweet waves on my tongue I've been untethered again from the ether, it's been long enough It's been a pleasure, the rainfall was sweeter, sweet waves on my tongue I've been untethered again from the ether I've been untethered again from your love

Some conversations start with a sentence at the end Of a sword you used to skewer everything that you had said The message of your note buried in the flowers that you sent I never saw what you wrote, I just imagined what you meant Another step in wet cement Another step in wet cement I thought you’d never ask, the end was nothing like it seemed You watch it fade to black, a shade of violet in between You sounded so much different when your dirty mouth was clean You can take your pretty words, I’m holding on to what they mean Another step in wet cement Another step in wet cement

Just let your heart bleed a little while As your words just fall like raindrops by the wayside Like yeah, yeah, yeah Just a fall from grace, tell ‘em we're all right And when summertime came, we’d fade and watch the rain dry Like yeah, yeah, yeah You say you don’t mind these rainy days though Wash your regret, watch the sunset, pass the time And if you love me, come inside But your love’s dead, covered in flies Your father says you don’t get out enough Your mother says you’re hard to find Well I flow like superfly, sting like disease I was dancing in the desert, now I’m blue like the seas There’s graffiti on my soul, baby girl, and I want it gone Could you sing it like a punk, could you teach me to breathe? Are you flippin’ like a nun with a stick up her sleeve? Screamin’ “Say your prayers, you know, you’ll only be here for awhile” Ripped a hole in the sky and washed up on the beach And I ran to a church, but there was no room for me Have I fallen asleep or just fallen apart again? Just let your heart bleed a little while As your words just fall like raindrops by the wayside Like yeah, yeah, yeah Just a fall from grace, tell ‘em we're all right And when summertime came, we’d fade and watch the rain dry Like yeah, yeah, yeah Have you faded away like nothing’s out there? As your dark grows short on the pavement, longer days And with a punched-out broken smile He says “I hope yous got a ride” ‘Cause we all know you’ll only get nowhere With meaningless shoes and worn out rhymes Well I flow like superfly, sting like disease I was dancing in the desert, now I’m blue like the seas There’s graffiti on my soul, baby girl, and I want it gone Could you sing it like a punk, could you teach me to breathe? Are you flippin’ like a nun with a stick up her sleeve? Screamin’ “Say your prayers, you know, you’ll only be here for awhile” Ripped a hole in the sky and washed up on the beach And I ran to a church, but there was no room for me Have I fallen asleep or just fallen apart again? Just let your heart bleed a little while As your words just fall like raindrops by the wayside Like yeah, yeah, yeah Just a fall from grace, tell ‘em we're all right And when summertime came, we’d fade and watch the rain dry Like yeah, yeah, yeah And I might need you for awhile On your own, skin and bone, blood and bile So in love, so alone, your hero Never forget lessons learned from George Carillo But come again And be my friend Just let your heart bleed a little while As your words just fall like raindrops by the wayside Like yeah, yeah, yeah Like yeah, yeah, yeah

I'm floating backwards in my head I seem to fall to pieces, heaven stole my friend As blacker skies unwind to red I know the nights are long, the goblin song, beginning to the end Just know the past is over Just know my mind is gone I call her sea and solar Marisol Lost in the deep, return to me As darkness falls and time dissolves around me silently I wait for you beside the sea As ghosts surround me, try to drown me, try to set me free Just know the past is over Just know my mind is gone I call her sea and solar Marisol These rains have brought this fuzz to bloom Inside the light, the butterfly has found its final womb I sink into my sacred tomb Ashes to burn inside this urn as I return to you Just know the past is over Just know my mind is gone I call her sea and solar Marisol

Well all I wanted was to fade right Into the darkness of your eyes Somewhere to soak in all the daylight Beneath the psychedelic sky Lay in the strangest situation There in the belly of the deep Stuck in suspended animation Where I can finally get some sleep I've been waiting for the daylight to fade out Slowly decaying with you wasting my time Somewhere to stay warm, another waveform Crashing into my head is all I need Sometimes it's best if you just let me bleed So now I'm so far without you, now I'm so far behind Another fallen angel smiling when our bodies collide And I believe that I'm still dreaming when I wake up this slow I'm in the attic floating on another planet While the static comes through my radio and aliens say hello I've been waiting for the daylight to fade out Slowly decaying with you wasting my time Somewhere to stay warm, another waveform Crashing into my head is all I need Sometimes it's best if you just let me bleed

You’re breaking hearts and pushing daisies And I won’t see you again, so I’ll just wish you well You left the Earth and left me crazy I hope you found your god or you’re enjoying hell They say it still gets cold out in California But I’ll go anyway and just enjoy the love Now I don’t claim to know, but I think I should warn you That when you die and move to your next life, they just might ask you how heaven was Give me the fuzz Now the twilight was violet, all the leaves turning brown I was bathing in the soundwaves, trying to get down And I could never seem to fall asleep without you around To tell you how I feel with my tongue on the ground And if I wait for something better, I could be here for days Watching the world slowly end with a smile on my face So we could head down south and vanish into thin air Start a religion in a strip mall, somewhere nowhere would care And our first hymn could go like this, get ready
8.
I'm sure your mom would love to see you Before you reach the other side And now your friends all get a preview Of what it's like All you love, all you remember Thrown away, just cast aside All because you won't surrender What a waste of life They can carry you dead back home They can carry you dead back home They can carry you dead back home Into loving arms Well you might find all you believe in A sunny valley in full bloom Accepting sunset without reason In the afternoon By now, I've had this conversation With too many a dying man So if you're holding reservation Just take my hand They can carry you dead back home They can carry you dead back home They can carry you dead back home Into loving arms

Something tells me we might live to see another hundred years Our analog hearts there in a jar beside our other souvenirs Will I still love you anyway? I can't be sure, but I think so We'll take our walks down by the park, a binary place to go A digital rose beneath my nose, just the price of progress I suppose Maybe I think about this way too much I've been worrying about the future, but I realize I've always been out of touch Lately It seems like everything's so strange I can try to make it better, maybe get myself together Something's not quite right with my brain I think I might need a change Pixelated daisies all aligned inside a bittersweet array It's not too late to find a place out in the sticks where we could stay Funny how we all forget how good it feels it slowly fall asleep Turn me off before I'm eaten by technology Just hit delete, I'm obsolete, I'll sleep til my update's released Maybe I think about this way too much I've been worrying about the future, but I realize I've always been out of touch Lately It seems like everything's so strange I can try to make it better, maybe get myself together Something's not quite right with my brain I think I might need a change Drift to something good, all we really need is somewhere warm to stay in Future breakfasts, all with you, are really all I think about There's something sorta sweet about the thought of you and me slowly decaying I'm afraid of change and fading out, but i don't know what I'm worried about Something tells me we'll still be here, and we'll still be weird even a hundred years from now

I wish that we could be honest We don’t even say the words If this ain’t full-fledged bullshit Then it’s surely hardened turds I know that we could be closer We don’t even have to talk I wanna run a marathon And you just wanna walk Say what you mean And mean what you say Say what you mean And mean what you say I must admit that I miss the times That we partied all night long The nights were filled with laughter So they couldn’t be that wrong I know that this isn’t over Because I want just a little more Our lives are just starting over again But you’re such a fuckin’ bore Say what you mean And mean what you say Say what you mean And mean what you say

Never let my silence sway you Even now, the end's begun I can't seem to find a way to Accept that now it's time to fly myself beside the sun Good souls are hide to find Some stranded here and left behind Sweet child, you remind Me of myself when I was blind Leave the sunlight there behind you Say goodbye forever now All the love you gave will find you But who's to say if things will change or matter anyhow Good souls are hide to find Some stranded here and left behind Sweet child, you remind Me of myself when I was blind Good souls are hide to find Some stranded here and left behind Sweet child, you remind Me of myself when I was blind

I wanna know about your loves and doubts and everything between Cause in the morning you'll be someone else, another human being Wake up to find that you were right when you decide to move along I'll hold on close to every moment, in the morning you'll be gone You can only stay so long And I can only say “so long” I can only say “so long” Maybe I should step aside, just let the waves take you to shore One day I'll learn that you've returned, just not the same as once before Now everything you say gets washed away and lost into the stars Somewhere overhead you're shifting red and out there way too far And I wonder where you are You can only stay so long And I can only say “so long”

about

It’s no secret that we use a ton of effects with our guitars. They’re inspiring, fun, and have been, and will always be, a large part of our sound. But about a year ago, we decided to challenge ourselves to strip our songs down to unplugged arrangements to see if they hold up. Some were more fun in their simplicity. Others were more interesting thanks to the newly invented parts bred by necessity. We've chosen 12 of our favorites (which include some un-and-yet-to-be-released tunes) to put out into the ether. This is Gene Mildest.
